Shawn Bear is one of the purest Point Guards around with great outside shooting ability from the three point arch. His ability to stretch the defense with his great shooting has caused confusion for many defenses.

He has great court awareness and leadership ability to run a ball club. Shawn is a key member and 2nd leading scorer for the Richfield Spartans High School boys basketball team. He was instrumental in helping lead Richfield to a 17 - 9 record this year. Team GetShook Black 13U MN Heat Spring Tournament Weekend Re-Cap!!

Folks,

What a great weekend! I thought it was our best effort to date. I think the kids are really starting to get used too and enjoy playing together.

A 94 – 80 win in game one was awful fun to watch. Saturday nights win against Panthers was a great win. I think it showed everyone that we are right there with the best teams in the state. Even though we lost the championship to the Hustlers on Sunday we only gave up 7 field goals in the second half. You have to give them credit, they shot 18 for 21 from the free throw line in the 2nd half and that turned out to be the difference. We were 15 of 18 from the free throw line for the game so we did a great job as well. I am really excited about Milwaukee.

Don wanted us to name a MVP and a Mr. Hustle award for each tournament. I did not get that done for the last couple of tournaments, my fault. This week’s tournament Coach Tate and I would like to name Taylor Spier the MVP and Jayson Edwards as our Mr. Hustle.

Taylor’s consistent play is his strength. He plays great defense in spite of usually guarding players that are much quicker most of the time. He boxes out and rebounds on every possession. He is a consistent scorer and a big 3 point threat.

Jayson is our “energy guy”. He will most often be assigned to guard the other team’s best player as well as being out top on our press. He is a great rebounder from the guard position and gives us unbelievable speed on offense.

On a side note, it was great to see Tre Tate back on the floor. We look forward to getting him back at full strength.

Bethel University will be the site for the Heat Spring Tournament, Great Facilities and some hard noise basketball! As the saying goes come ready to play or get ran out the gym:))))))))))))

All GetShook Teams will be playing in the Minnesota Heat Spring Tournament May 8th - 9th! This event will give us another chance to work and improve on our game before the upcoming NY2LA Sports Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin May 21 - 23rd that will showcase talent from across the country and this tournament will have on hand several national scouting services and publications on hand to track players progress.
